Blake Lively Justin Baldoni Tension of Rumors: The film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel “It Ends with Us” has hit theatres, and the excitement isn’t just about the plot.
Blake Lively Justin Baldoni Tension of Rumors between lead actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have ignited a firestorm online, with fans dissecting every aspect of the film’s promotional events.
Directed by Baldoni and produced by Lively, the film It Ends with Us follows the story of Lily Blossom Bloom, played by Lively, as she falls for neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, portrayed by Baldoni, while reconnecting with her childhood love, Atlas Corrigan, played by Brandon Sklenar.
The speculation began at the New York City premiere on August 6, where fans noticed the absence of group photos featuring the entire cast. Lively was spotted with her husband Ryan Reynolds, friend Hugh Jackman, and co-stars Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar, but not with Baldoni.
Baldoni walked the red carpet alone, accompanied by his wife, Emily Baldoni, further fueling rumors. According to People magazine, Baldoni did not join Lively and Hoover in introducing the film, despite being the director.
Fans quickly took to social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), to comment on the apparent lack of interaction between the lead actors. Adding to the speculation, some fans noted that neither Lively nor Hoover follow Baldoni on Instagram after the premiere.
One user, @vnesswiftie, issued a cautionary tweet, stating, “Just so you know, if you haven’t read It Ends with Us, it’s not a romcom. Don’t grab your girls and florals. Understand that it’s about domestic violence and includes some triggering scenes. The way this movie is being promoted is really pissing me off.”
On Instagram, @amyv1952 commented on a clip from an interview that Blake Lively posted, saying, “Why are they promoting this movie like it’s a cute little romcom? This film deals with very serious topics, and they could have used this opportunity to raise awareness about an issue that needs more attention. So disappointed. I’m honestly glad Justin did separate interviews.”
In earlier interviews, Justin Baldoni praised Lively, describing her as “a wonderful listener” who helped him improve as an actor. However, when cast member Jenny Slate was asked about Baldoni’s directing, her vague response fueled speculation about the dynamics on set.
Baldoni has even suggested that Lively might be better suited to direct a potential sequel to It Ends with Us, based on Colleen Hoover’s follow-up novel, It Starts With Us.
While rumors about tension between the two stars continue to swirl online, the promotional campaign’s lighthearted approach has faced backlash for not addressing the serious themes of domestic violence that are central to the story.
