Nineteen-year-old Ayesha Rashan from Karachi underwent a major heart transplant operation in Chennai, India, thanks to the organ donation from a generous 69-year-old donor.
The surgery, costing over INR 3.5 million, was financially supported by a charitable organization, providing significant relief for Ayesha Rashan. After a five-year wait, she finally received a suitable donor, allowing the life-saving procedure to take place.
Ayesha Rashan expressed her renewed vigor, stating, “I feel much better now.” Her immediate aim is to complete her studies in Karachi, and she aspires to pursue a career in fashion design thereafter.
In 2019, while in India, Ayesha Rashan became critically ill due to a heart condition, leading doctors to recommend a heart transplant. Faced with the challenge of finding a suitable donor, she endured a lengthy wait during which she relied on a special device that assisted her heart in pumping blood, sustaining her until a donor was found.
